Writing: We will begin our informational writing unit with animal research papers.
Math: We will begin to work on solving addition and subtraction story problems.
Science/Social Studies: We will continue to learn about penguins.
Other Important Information:
No Homework Next Week
There is no homework, math quiz, or spelling test this week due to our schedule being off on many of the days. I will send the homework packet home with students next Friday for the first week we come back from break. Students are not required to work on it over break, but I want to make sure students have it because we will have a 4 day week the week come back.
Optional Homework Over Break
This week, I will send home a reading log that has each day of our break on it. It is super important for students to continue reading during our 2 week break in order to not lose skills we have learned the first half of the year. The reading log is optional, but is suggested for students to complete. Students can record the minutes that they read each day of break (except Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Years Eve, and New Years Day) and have you initial it. It is suggested that students read at least 20 minutes each day. If students complete the reading, record it, get the log initialed, and turn it in when we return from break, they can earn the reward of eating lunch in the classroom!
We will be having Spirt Week Next Week:
Monday: Holiday Red & Green &/or Mismatch Day!
Tuesday: Holiday Headgear &/or Hat Day!
Wednesday: Crazy Holiday Hair Day!
Thursday: Holiday Socks and Sweater Day!
Friday: PJ Day!
Weather: Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside recess. The students also go outside for P.E. sometimes too.
