What Are We Learning In Class Next Week:
Reading: We will be learning about verb tenses. Students will be working with present, past, and future tenses, and when to use them correctly.
Writing: We will continue working on our poetry unit and writing different types of poetry.
Math: To get ready for 3rd grade, we will be learning about multiplication as repeated addition and rectangular arrays and division as repeated subtraction.
Science/Social Studies: We will be finishing up the last of our Scholastic News for the year and be working on some Camp What-a-Wonder activities!
Other Important Information:
Beach Towel
We will be going outside for some activities next week (field day, K-9 visit, etc). We are suggesting for students to bring a beach towel so they have something to sit on since it has been raining so much over the past couple weeks. The students can keep the beach towels in their cubbies throughout the week.
Camp What-a-Wonder
The week of May 16th-20th we will be participating in Camp What-a-Wonder! Throughout the year, we have explored a “wonder of the day” through the website Wonderopolis.org. Camp What-a-Wonder is a chance for us to extend this learning. We will be incorporating reading, writing, math, science, and social studies for a fun-filled week of hands on activities. We are asking for your donation of the items we will need. We are still in need of just a few items. If you would like to send something in, please sign up by following the link below. Many thanks to all those who have already signed up to donate something!

Weather: With the weather starting to change, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside recess. The students also go outside for P.E. sometimes too.
