What Are We Learning In Class Next Week:
Reading: We will be learning about nonfiction text features and how they can help us understand a nonfiction text.
Writing: We will continue to write our How To's with using words like first, next, then, finally.
Math: We will being learning about number strings (adding together multiple numbers), and will be learning new games to practice this skill.
Science/Social Studies:We will be learning about the different types of clouds, and what type of weather we see with each type.
Other Important Information:
Report Cards - Report cards were sent home on 10/23 for 1st Quarter grades. Please take everything out of the envelope and keep all papers at home. Please sign the line on the envelope for the first quarter and have students return the envelope to school as soon as possible. I reuse the envelopes every grading period.
First Quarter Awards - Students also brought home first quarter awards today if they earned one. The awards are given for perfect attendance, Unified Arts classes, Most Improved student, and 100 book club.
Red Ribbon Week:
Next week will be Red Ribbon Week. Students can participate throughout the week! Here are what we will be celebrating each day!
Monday- Pledge to be Drug and Bully Free!
Tuesday- I'm Too Bright For Drugs and Bullying! Wear your bright clothing!
Wednesday- I'm Wild About Being Drug Free and Bully Free! - Wear wild hair!
Thursday- "Red"y to Live Drug Free & Bully Free- Wear Red
Friday- Team up Against Drugs and Bullies- Wear Blue and Gold
Fees
Students will be bringing home a statement for their student fees if they have any. This was sent home with report cards. You can pay by check. If you pay by check, please make it out to Monroe Local Schools and put the student name on the check. You can also pay online with the student EZ pay on the Monroe Local Schools website ( www.monroelocalschools.com). For payment arrangements please contact the office at the elementary - 513-539-8101 Thanks!
Weather: With the weather starting to change, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for outside recess. The students also go outside for P.E. sometimes too.
